About the Book
“The Bodyman” is a political thriller with the action of “The Terminal List” and “Reacher”, the suspense of “Taken” and the romantic tension of “50 Shades of Gray”
The main protagonist, Evelyn James is loosely based on the life of author Kate Monroe, a Marine Corps veteran, congressional candidate, national news commentator, and CEO of VetComm. Monroe has been extremely active and vocal on major political and social issues such as border security, homelessness, and veterans’ affairs. Evelyn, as Kate has done, speaks out on the issue of an open border and the human and drug smuggling crisis caused by the Mexican Cartels. With the orchestration of James’ main political rival, crooked Congressman Whittaker, the Cartels kidnap James and take her into hostile territory south of the border to execute her.
Evelyn’s hired bodyman, Dallas Rogers, and his crack team of military experts go on a manhunt to save James in hostile territory, outmanned and outnumbered but use their tactical expertise to conduct a successful recovery mission minutes before it becomes too late. By saving James, the political corruption and machinations of Whittaker become exposed, prompting James for future political prowess.
As the plot evolves so does the relationship of James and Rogers as the two fall more fond of each other and try to navigate the power struggle between the two alpha characters.
